Bulls co-owner: “We believe licensing format will return by 2021 at latest”

Bradford Bulls co-owner Andrew Chalmers has said at a fans forum that he believes the licensing format will return by 2021 at the latest.

The Bulls have been relegated to League 1 after a disappointing season in the Championship, which started with the club on -12 points due to going into liquidation.

However, Chalmers and the people behind the scenes at Bradford have already been planning the club’s rise to the top.

The former New Zealand Rugby League chairman also revealed the possibility of the licensing format returning in a few years time.

“We clearly have to plan for League 1,” said Chalmers.

“Anything that changes, that is completely outside of our control.

“That would mean the earliest possible return to Super League would be 2020. And we believe from 2021 at the latest, there will be a new Super League licensing format in place.”

“We have to be realistic and plan accordingly.”
