Brisbane halfback linked with sensational move to Super League

Brisbane’s Anthony Milford could be set for a sensational move to Super League, Fox Sports has reported.

Milford’s agent, Sam Ayoub, believes his client would thrive in a new environment as NRL and Super League clubs circle.

The 26-year-old halfback was told by the Broncos mid-week that he would no longer be wanted after seven years at the club as his $1 million per season contract made him the most expensive player to ever play for Brisbane.

Ayoub confirmed Milford had received interest from a plethora of NRL clubs and several English Super League teams.

“Anthony is fine – there is no bravado in saying to someone that we are not going to be keeping you,” Ayoub said.

“That is just the way that rugby league is.

“He never expected to be there, we didn’t expect him to be there, and the common theme throughout this process is that he needs a change.

“He needs to go somewhere where he can get back to playing his best and that definitely has to be elsewhere.”
