Brisbane Broncos star Selwyn Cobbo attracting SEVEN NRL sides

Rugby League mistake

Brisbane Broncos face a fight on their hands to keep one of their main young superstars.

Selwyn Cobbo is attracting as many as SEVEN clubs to his signature, according to the Courier Mail.

One of those includes Wayne Bennett’s Dolphins, who are set to come into the NRL from 2023.

One of the most talented youngsters to come through the NRL ranks in recent years, Cobbo looks to be thoroughly enjoying his rugby at Red Hill and teams will have to wait until November 1 to put an offer on the table.

However, it is understood he will likely attract deals worth in excess of $700,000 a season – and the Broncos are not sitting idle at that prospect.

“We know big deals will sit out there for our best young talent, but we’re in negotiations with Selwyn at the moment and doing everything we can to keep him at the club,” Broncos football boss Ben Ikin told the Courier Mail.

“We understand there will always be clubs in the recruitment cycle that are going to throw big money at your current and emerging stars.

“We’re not naive enough to think there aren’t competing forces out there.

“Some clubs will be really hungry for a guy as talented as Selwyn.”
