Brian Noble says Super League star’s “skillset is as high as anyone’s in the game”

There is a common misconception in sport that once you hit 30 years of age your ability plummets.

Brian Noble has pushed against this claiming that Paul McShane still has a skillset as high as anyone’s in the game.

Noble said that the Tigers need him and Joe Westerman at their best to avoid relegation as they battle against Wakefield Trinity.

“They need him and Joe Westerman at their very very best,” he said on BBC.

“Paul McShane’s skillset is as high as anyone’s in the game.”

This came as Jamie Jones-Buchanan said that McShane is “passed his prime.”

“He won the Man of Steel in 2020, that’s not many moons ago,” he said on BBC.

“He is getting a bit older so he is probably passed his prime I’ll be honest with you but he still knows the game and can change a game.

“He still has a change of pace and he just needs people with him.”

McShane and Westerman started in the halves against Hull FC in the Challenge Cup which partly identifies the reason the Tigers are struggly with their spine almost entirely absent against the black and whites.
