Brian Carney points to overlooked factor which could determine star’s future as saga begins

There are a number of players who are already gathering interest from rival players just a week into the recruitment window.

One of them is Hull FC star Chris Satae. Coach Tony Smith confirmed he is considering other offers but Hull want to keep him.

Catalans Dragons are one side being tipped to try and sign him.

However, Sky Sports’ Brian Carney has suggested the fact that Ligi Sao is staying at the club will be key to Hull’s hopes of keeping him:

“Something that could play into Tony Smith’s hands is that one of his best mates and teammates Ligi Sao has already signed a contract extension to stay at the club.”

Lee Briers meanwhile was full of praise for the player:

“He is going to be in demand, he is so good. The size of his legs, wow. He has trimmed down a bit this year, he is in incredible shape and has probably been Hull’s best player this year.”

Meanwhile, Jamie Jones-Buchanan said:

“He is an unbelievable human being and you are always going to preview him. The physics say you need three or four defenders to stop him and he gets his hands free a lot and makes a lot of offloads and the alarm bells have got to go off because he will score tries if you are not ready for him.”
