Brett Hodgson’s Hull FC were outclassed and outenthused by a rampant Hull KR this afternoon in a Hull derby masterclass.
Hull scored just one try through Josh Reynolds in the first-half before Lachlan Coote dotted down twice in the second forty minutes to take the game away from the Black and Whites.
For Hodgson, his side were way behind in a number of areas.
“Our completions were terrible – we knew we had to compete high against this team and we competed 55-60%,” Hodgson said on Sky Sports after the game.
“We had some players that gave everything they had and we had some that were well off and cost us in the end.
“I said we needed to be clinical then we dropped the ball in the first set – maybe the occasion got the better of some but we can’t do that in front of our fans.”
Hodgson also revealed that he will ring the changes for Hull’s clash with Warrington Wolves on Monday as he seeks an attitude transformation.
“There needs to be some changes and we have to build a game, but we need to give ourselves a chance to win the game.
“We need to change attitude and personnel – it’s very disappointing that we didn’t give the occasion it deserved.”
