Brett Hodgson gave an injury update on his squad this afternoon after a comprehensive 58-12 win over Sheffield Eagles in the Challenge Cup Sixth Round on Saturday afternoon.
Carlos Tuimavave made his first appearance of the season for the Black and Whites and Hodgson has revealed that the centre will be going for a scan today.
“We’ve got a precautionary scan on him this afternoon,” Hodgson told Hull Live. “I think he’s OK but hopefully he’ll get some good news on that this afternoon.
“It’s not his hamstring, his calf has tightened up a little bit and that sometimes happens after a period of not playing, especially on that ground, it was quite hard underneath. If the scan shows that he is OK then he’ll more than likely play.”
Hodgson also gave an update on Darnell McIntosh, Jamie Shaul and Josh Reynolds with the trio absent in recent weeks.
“He’s (McIntosh) still progressing well,” the head coach added. “He’ll be in the 21-man squad and we’ll see how he keeps going at the backend of the week.
(Shaul is) still a couple of weeks off,” Hodgson said. “He strained his calf so his progression back to running starts this week.
“Josh Reynolds won’t be in the squad this week but he’ll come into contention next week.”
