Gareth Widdop will be staying at Warrington in 2022.
That’s according to the Warrington Guardian which has reported that Widdop will remain at the Halliwell Jones Stadium to play alongside new signing George Williams.
Warrington chief executive Karl Fitzpatrick says Widdop will be partnering Williams in the halves in a mouth-watering combination.
“There has been a lot of rumours Down Under about Gareth,” Fitzpatrick said.
“But he will be here next year.
“He has been in devastating form and was player of the month.
“Fans can look forward to seeing them together this year and next.”
The news does cast doubt on Blake Austin’s future, who has been linked with a sensational move to Hull KR.
