BREAKING: Ex-Wigan Warriors and Salford Red Devils star Jackson Hastings reveals his club for 2023

Jackson Hastings’ future has been one of the main talking points in recent weeks and months.

After resurrecting his career in Super League with the Salford Red Devils and then the Wigan Warriors, Hastings earned himself a move back to the NRL with the Wests Tigers.

Since then, however, there have been question marks over his future, with the likes of Canterbury Bulldogs and Newcastle Knights said to have been interested in signing the playmaker.

Hastings, on the other hand, wants to stay at Concord for the long term, revealing that is the club where he will be for 2023.

“Hopefully I get a chance to stay here long term, I’d love to not bounce around clubs my whole career,” he told AAP.

“I’d like to build a bit of a home at one place and stay with the same players and build a combination and friendships that last a lifetime along with some good memories too.

“I haven’t heard that I’m going anywhere else, I’m committed to being here.

“It’s not entirely up to the player because the club has got to want you first and foremost and see you in their vision and if that all fits, I see no reason why I wouldn’t be here.”

The Sydney Morning Herald has also previously reported that everything isn’t as rosy behind the scenes as is portrayed by Hastings – who is often hailed as one of the most professional sportsmen out there.

The paper stated: “There are a number of people at the club who don’t believe he is a good influence on the team despite the image he portrays in the media for the fans. He has become a cult hero, but the view is different among most internally.”

Hastings, however, has come out fighting in retaliation.

“It’s not the first time I’ve heard it. I’m pretty used to hearing things like that,” he told the Wide World of Sports.

“It’s probably an easy fallback and something to write from a few years ago. I actually addressed it with a few people at the club. They were pretty clear that they didn’t say it. I’m not going to name names.”
