Bradford winger ruled out of action with broken jaw

Bradford Bulls Odsal Stadium.

Bradford Bulls’ rising star outside back Ethan Ryan will be sidelined for the start of the Championship Shield after sustaining a broken jaw in the defeat to Hull Kingston Rovers.

Bulls boss Geoff Toovey said in his post-match press conference after the KR game that Ryan will face “six to eight weeks at least” out of action.

This will come as a tough break for the winger, who has been superb since his breakthrough season in 2016.Another fantastic product of the Bradford Bulls academy, Ryan will be eager to get back on the field and scoring tries as soon as possible.

He has struck up a great partnership with fellow academy product James Bentley, and both players have been attracting interest from Super League which will come as no surprise to anyone linked with the Bradford club.

The Bulls currently sit bottom of the table and on zero points after wiping out their points deduction from the start of the season.

Without Ryan at their disposal, Bradford’s task of Championship survival has been made even more challenging.
