Bradford have confirmed the signing of Matty Dawson-Jones from Hull FC on a one-year deal.

The 29-year-old made just one appearance for the Black and Whites, after spending the past year out with a serious knee injury.

Prior to that, he had spells with Leigh, St Helens, Doncaster and Rochdale after starting his career at Huddersfield.

“After a year out I needed to get back playing and to get interest from a club like the Bulls was massive,” he told the Bulls’ website. “Being able to work for a coach of John Kear’s stature too was a huge part of the decision – he is a top quality coach and working for him is a great opportunity for me to kickstart my career again.

Bradford coach Kear added: “He is a quality recruit – he is a Super League player with extensive experience on the wing and in the centres and I am delighted he has agreed to join us.

“He will bring experience amongst our many exciting young players and what I like about him is he is willing to do the dirty work and put a good shift in – he is a very good finisher as well.”
