Bradford set to finally return to Odsal

Bradford Bulls are to return to Odsal this weekend after an absence of almost two years.

The current Championship side have been groundsharing with Dewsbury since the start of the 2020 season, following the decision to leave Odsal due to the cost of rates, rent and maintenance.

Bradford host York on Sunday, having agreed an 18-month deal with the Rugby Football League, who own the venue’s leasehold. But, despite the venue undergoing refurbishment, more work will need to be done to ensure requirements are met.

A club statement read: “The club are delighted to confirm that its fixture against York will be staged at Odsal Stadium.

“While the stadium it is not yet exactly as we want it to be, and there is still work to do yet, nevertheless it provides the best opportunity to allow most supporters the chance to view the action in person.

“Odsal Stadium is the venue that came back from the dead. We are not blind to its shortcomings. It may be old and it may be basic, but it is our home.”

Capacity will be limited to 4,000 due to the current pandemic rules.
