Bradford Bulls have signed another former Super League player.
The Bulls have already made some impressive signings bringing in Super League experience such as Leeds Rhinos duo Jack Walker and Bodene Thompson as well as Huddersfield Giants veteran Michael Lawrence.
Now Masi Matongo is the latest join the club.
The prop started his career at Hull FC making 59 appearances in the black and white after debuting against Wigan Warriors.
He spent a brief stint on loan at Bradford in 2021 before joining York in 2022.
Over the first weekend of the season, Matongo featured for the Bulls reserves in a friendly which took place on Saturday before their Round One win over Whitehaven.
Whether he would be signed on permanently remained unclear but speaking to Bulls TV, Bradford boss Mark Dunning confirmed he had been signed on.
He said: “I’m delighted to say that we have managed to come to agreement with Masi and his agent.
“He’s signed a contract with us and he will even go into the melting pot at the weekend. I am really chuffed with that. He has added some real quality.
“We’ve had to do some due diligence and be really creative with this deal. He found himself with no club in pre-season, we have given him some treatment and some love and he’s decided this is where he wants to be. He will push for a place and push standards as well.”
He has now been included in the Bulls line up today against Widnes.
