Bradford Bulls set for four new signings – including a Leeds Rhinos starlet

Bradford Bulls are gearing up for another season in the Championship, but there appears to be a new-found confidence among the ranks at Odsal.

After a few years of finishing inside the play-offs but going no further, head coach John Kear has rebuilt ahead of the 2022 Championship season in a bid to go one better.

“I felt we were a little bit skinny in the squad last year,” Kear told West Yorkshire Radio Rugby League.

“We have got a few signings to announce and there are other players who can play in the halves and you may well see that in an announcement that comes through soon.

“We will have three long-term loans but you’ve got to accept they are not our players.

“I believe they will be with us for the vast majority of the season, but we should be able to add another separate loan.

“Those deals are 99.9% done.”

One of those deals expected to be done is for youngster Jarrod O’Connor, who has played eight games for the Rhinos since debuting in 2020.

The loose-forward has also registered two appearances on-loan at the Featherstone Rovers and is the son of former Widnes Vikings and Wigan Warriors forward Terry O’Connor.
