Bradford Bulls have provided a positive update regarding forward Will Gardiner, after he was stretchered off the field in last night’s defeat to St Helens.
Gardiner was involved in a head-on-head collision with Saints’ Daniel Suluka-Fifita, and instantly hit the deck, causing grave concern.
After a stoppage, he was stretchered off with the help of both sets of medical staff and was met with plenty of applause from the concerned supporters at Odsal.
Immediately after the game, boss Kurt Haggerty said that he was awake and alert, which was very relieving to hear. Bradford have now confirmed via social media that Gardiner is at home, and will continue to recover from the serious concussion suffered last night.

“We’re pleased to confirm Will is at home, continuing his recovery following his concussion last night.
“Our thanks go to both medical teams, and to the many messages of support from Bradford fans and Rugby League fans alike.
“We will continue to support Will throughout his recovery.”

Bradford Bulls duo’s injury concern ahead of Magic Weekend
As well as Gardiner, Bradford lost two other forwards in last night’s game, with both try-scorer Phoenix Steinwede and Daniel Russell leaving the field due to knocks.
Haggerty revealed after the game that whilst there is not a prognosis or a timeline on their injuries just yet, it would be a huge blow if they were to both miss next weekend’s trip to Everton.
“Phoenix is a groin. He can barely move and walk. Dan Russell is ribs,” confirmed the boss.
