Bradford Bulls release history inspired away shirt

Based on the some of the shirts released in both the Super League and Championship ahead of 2022, next year could very well be the best looking season of rugby league we’ve seen for some time.

Bradford Bulls are certainly contributing to that with the release of a sharp away shirt that embraces the past as the club looks to get back to where they belong in 2022.

World Champions just 15 years ago following their triumph over Wests Tigers in 2006, Bradford went into that season on the back of five consecutive Grand Final appearances including three wins but have since slipped down to the Championship due to financial issues.

Going into the new season, after a disappointing play-off exit at the hands of Batley Bulldogs, the Bulls have recruited wisely adding eight signings from Super League clubs including Challenge Cup winner Dec Patton and three of Leeds Rhinos’ best youngsters on loan in the shape of Muizz Mustapha, Jarrod O’Connor and Corey Johnson.

A big season ahead, the Bulls needed a good look to add to the hype and have gone for a jersey designed by Steeden which evokes memories of the past.

Released under the tag line ‘Our Past Inspires Us’ the new away shirt incorporates the colours purple and green much like the club’s away shirts of the past as the video package released by the club on Twitter shows with highlights of the club in their Bradford Northern days in the 90s when they sported the purple and green in style.

The bold colours contrast nicely with the white on the kit to create a shirt that calls back to the past but also beckons the future as the Bulls aim to return to Super League in 2022.
