Bradford Bulls potentially hint at further signings as squad numbers revealed including former Super League stars

Bradford Bulls named their 2023 squad numbers last night.

The Bulls are pursuing promotion back to Super League after an absence starting back in 2014 when they were relegated despite being one of four teams to win the Grand Final last doing so in 2005 which punctuated a run of five consecutive Grand Final appearances.

In a bid to return to the top flight, the Bulls have made a number of signings and brought ex-Super League stars,

Former Castleford Tigers man Joe Arundel who joined recently from Halifax Panthers takes the number three shirt whilst new skipper and former Huddersfield Giants man Michael Lawrence has taken on the number 10 shirt.

His vice-captain and ex-Leeds Rhinos star Bodene Thompson is to wear 13.

Papua New Guinea World Cup star and new signing Keven Appo will wear 18 and in a twist, star signing from Leeds Jack Walker will not wear the number one shirt but rather the 31 shirt. Tom Holmes is to be the number one whilst Walker returns to the shirt number he debuted in 2017 when he became the youngest Super League Champion in history.

Curiously, after coach Mark Dunning said they are still looking for “the right players” to add to their squad in terms of recruitment. Five shirt numbers have been left vacant perhaps for those new signings to take on.
