Bradford Bulls invite fans to sleep at the back of Odsal Stadium

Bradford Bulls are one of the sport’s more historic sides and one of only four teams to secure a Super League title. Now in the Championship, they are continuing to lead by example with an amazing charity initiative announced today.

The Bulls are hosting ‘The Big Bradford Bulls Sleep Out’ which invites fans to grab their sleeping bags and spend the night of 14th January sleeping at the back of their stadium.

Three charities will benefit from the event which will also see live entertainment and hot food being served. The charities are Focus4Hope, Homeless Not Hopeless and Calderdale SmartMove.

The club tweeted the news with a link to their website where they provided more information.

“We are delighted to be hosting ‘The Big Bradford Bulls Sleep Out’ on Saturday 14th January at Odsal Stadium – where we will brave the elements to raise money for Focus4Hope, Homeless Not Hopeless and Calderdale SmartMove!

“The event will start from 5pm at the back of the Stainforth Construction Stand, where there will be Live Entertainment throughout the evening alongside some hot food/drink options.”

The club detailed the charities and the work that they do as well.

“This is a real challenge and all sponsorship will be split between three fantastic West Yorkshire charities who do so much for the homeless community:

– Calderdale SmartMove – supporting homeless and vulnerable people throughout Calderdale

– Focus4Hope – providing support for homeless, elderly, isolated and vulnerable people across West Yorkshire

– Homeless Not Hopeless – providing practical support to homeless people and those in need in the Bradford area”

The Bulls Media Manager Luke Mawson spoke about the event which costs just £10 to register for, and will hopefully raise money for the three charities.

“We are delighted to host this challenge and I use the term challenge as it is going to be extremely hostile in the middle of winter. It is cold at the best of times at this stadium so doing it in January shows we are serious.

“We are looking forward to the experience and helping raise money for some great charities who do fantastic work for the homeless community. It is freezing now and we are only in November so you will definitely have to wrap up, but we look forward to Saturday 14th January and completing this challenge.”
