Bradford Bulls coaching update with ‘number of high quality applications’

A month since Head Coach John Kear left by mutual consent, Bradford Bulls have offered an update on the search for a new head coach.

The statement reads: “The recruitment process for the head coach position is proceeding as planned. The club has had terrific interest from a number of high quality applicants, from both the UK and overseas.

“The club have accordingly imposed a closing date for applications of Sunday 5th June, as a couple of CVs are still being submitted, after which a Board subcommittee will interview those chosen to be on the short list next month.”

Chairman Nigel Wood said “We have been impressed by the quality and the calibre of a number of well-known coaches from both sides of the world. It goes without saying that this is a very important appointment for the club and our selection process needs to be thorough and rigorous.

We are in a fortunate position that we continue to be in safe hands under Interim Head Coach Mark Dunning, affording us the opportunity to run a thorough recruitment process. We have committed to absolute confidentiality to be fair to all concerned and while we absolutely want to keep supporters up to date and informed, we hope everyone will understand that we won’t be delivering a running commentary. Anyone still wishing to apply for the position can email CEO Jason.hirst@bradfordbulls.co.uk in the strictest confidence. We will provide a further update in due course.”
