Bradford Bulls assistant boss Lee Greenwood has revealed the club’s mindset heading into the final 10 rounds of the year, and has stated the side are reluctant to let the year “fizzle out”.
The Bulls have secured five wins in their first season back in Super League, and are one of three promoted sides to do tremendously well upon their return to the top flight.
However, the Odsal outfit will continue to strive for more as we approach the business end, and whilst play-offs are out of reach, that won’t stop Bradford from trying to have a strong end to the campaign.
Greenwood, who stepped in for Kurt Haggerty on press duties this week, said: “We do not want this season to just fizzle out over the last 10 games.
“We’ll go into every single game wanting to win, to compete, and if we do that and it takes us right through to the last game and we’re still scrapping away, picking results up, then I think the league table will look after itself, and we’ll be happy with it.
“It’s not just about finishing second to bottom, and we’re all happy and all singing. We want to just keep competing every week, pick up results where we can, obviously, but performance has all dictated that.
The Bulls take on Huddersfield Giants this evening for the second time this season. One of their five wins came against the Fartown outfit at Odsal, and they will be looking to do the double over the Giants with another win here.
Commenting on tonight’s opponents, the assistant coach said: “They’ve gone through now three head coaches, obviously, with Liam stepping in there for a little bit.
“They showed signs of improvement, obviously, going into that Wakefield game where they lost right on the hooter. They’ll have been really disappointed with last week’s performance. I’m sure they would have been looking at the next two fixtures, York and ourselves, looking to get a couple of good wins in there.
“They’ll be obviously disappointed with that and want a response the same as we do.
Bradford have a huge opportunity to earn their first away win of the season tonight, with two points on the road seemingly being Haggerty’s kryptonite this year.
Asked about a potential victory away from home, Greenwood said: “It’s not something we talk about every single day. I won’t lie, it’s something we want to do.
“With how Sunday went [defeat to Leeds], how it panned out, the manner of the defeat, this is just about a response now.
“Whether we’ve been playing at home or wherever we’ve been playing, we’re after a reaction and we’re going to get that on Friday.”

Bradford Bulls coach’s short response amid Marc Sneyd links
Bradford have been linked with a major signing for 2027, with veteran half-back Marc Sneyd being linked to the club.
The playmaker is set to leave Warrington Wolves at the end of the season, with the club set to use Brodie Croft, Ewan Irwin and Leon Hayes as their three spine players next year.
A move to the Bulls would mean he reunites with Haggerty after the two’s time at Salford, whilst there are plenty of players at Bradford that he also shared the field with at the Red Devils.
Despite the speculation, Greenwood had a very brief answer when he was asked to comment on that potential signing –Â “Lips are sealed, pal,” he replied.
