On Friday night Bradford Bulls hit a real low.
At the start of their new era under Mark Dunning who was confirmed as the club’s permanent coach this week after an initial interim basis, they were beaten badly by Newcastle Thunder who won 53-10.
It was a disappointing day for the struggling Bulls and showed the work Dunning needs to do at Odsal to get the club back on the up and knocking on the door on Super League.
Everyone at the club was disappointed and frustrations were no doubt high culminating in rumours on social media that chairman Nigel Woods had disrespected Bradford fans at the game as things went from bad to worse.
In response to this, the Bulls have issued a statement from the chairman himself stating that these stories are a fabrication.
The statement reads: “Although not personally on social media I have been made aware of significant allegations made against me, namely that I disrespected Bulls supporters on Friday night after the game at Newcastle.
“Let me be clear – this is a complete fabrication. While the club ordinarily doesn’t respond or react to the numerous inaccuracies frequently peddled, this is a serious untruth that, on this occasion, cannot be allowed to stand uncorrected.”
Wood then goes on to state that he did not leave the room in which he watched the game with alongside club partners and had no interactions with fans.
