Bradford Bulls have confirmed to the NRL that they are interested in playing in Las Vegas in 2027, according to CEO Jason Hirst.
Following on from the success of Wigan Warriors v Warrington Wolves in 2025 and Leeds Rhinos v Hull KR earlier this season, more Super League clubs are expected to travel over next year and be part of the NRL’s showpiece event..
It is unconfirmed which teams will be going yet, however the Bulls are one club who have put their name down to be in the running for a spot in the Sin City.
Chief Executive Jason Hirst, in an update provided to fans today [Thursday] has revealed as such, with him stating the club’s “genuine desire to represent Betfred Super League.”
Hirst has revealed that the club have met with both RL Commerical and the NRL about the possibility of being part of the festival of rugby league, with the club believing that a trip to the US would help to grow the brand both on and off the field.
Of course, money is the buggest factor, with almost all clubs that have travelled over taking a loss. The CEO has confirmed that, should the trip come to fruition, the money needed would not be taken from the 2027 budget, and will be funded alternatively.
Bradford expect to receive the decision from the RFL early next month, and they also believe they are one of three clubs currently in the running.
Bradford Bulls CEO reveals latest on 2027 playing squad
Whilst the 2026 season is less than half-way through, focus has already shifted to the 2027 season where talks are on going in both the recruitment and retention department.
In his message to the fans, Hirst revealed: “[Next year’s playing budget] will be further increased from this year to support Kurt Haggerty and his backroom team and the exciting, attacking style of rugby they promote.
“Contract talks with new and existing players are well underway with announcements to follow in the coming weeks and months.
“Whilst I understand that fans want to hear about such things here and now, I’m sure most can appreciate that is not always possible, for a whole host of reasons, some of which are outside of our control, so I ask everyone to stay patient in the knowledge that we’re already deep into action.
“Unlike this season, we have far more time to plan and build our squad for next season, with more players freely available as realistic targets.”
As it stands, Bradford have a number of key players off-contract at the end of the season, meaning there is plenty of talks and negotiations to be had.
Ryan Sutton is one of those men, however the former NRL prop does have the option of a further year in the contract he signed ahead of 2026.
