Bradford Bulls aiming for surprise Magic Weekend appearance

Bradford Bulls are aiming to be included in the 2022 Magic Weekend.

That’s according to the Telegraph & Argus which has revealed that the Bulls are attempting to get their away clash at Newcastle Thunder – which is scheduled for the same weekend – on the bill at the Magic Weekend.

Bradford’s general manager Tracey Erby told the Telegraph & Argus: “There is a lot of noise regarding Magic Weekend.

“It would be nice, as we are playing at Newcastle, if we could be some part of the event.”

It wouldn’t be the first time that two Championship sides have done battle at St James’ Park, as the Toronto Wolfpack took on Toulouse Olympique back in 2018 in the first game of that year’s Magic Weekend.

The Bulls, meanwhile, are aiming to build under John Kear for a charge at Super League promotion after a barren few years in the second tier.

Meanwhile, Newcastle have been steadily building for a number of years now, but recently waved goodbye to previous owner Mick Hogan who stood down on the eve of the New Year.

However, that certainly won’t stop the club’s momentum as they aim to bring top-flight rugby league back to the north east.
