Blake Austin has been dominating headlines this week.
The stand-off was unplayable against Huddersfield Giants last week as he notched two of the best assists you will see this season.
That wasn’t the first time he put in a performance like that in 2023 either.
Austin was similarly good against Catalans Dragons earlier in the season.
The former Warrington Wolves halfback brought that form against the Wolves tonight.
He was excellent with his running game carving the Wolves up. He created the opening try brilliantly.
He also kicked and passed well.
In between the two performances, there has been talk that Austin is considering his options due to the fact that he and Leeds are yet to agree on a new deal.
Having claimed the Man of the Match award in tonight’s game against Warrington on Sky Sports, for the second week in a row no less, Austin sent a very clear message to the higher ups at Headingley.
“I’m not sure Gary has been watching. He hasn’t called yet asking to discuss the contract. Hopefully I can press my case and get something sorted,” he said.
“Yeah, I don’t know if Leeds’ preference is for me to stay. I’d love to hear from them.”
