Blake Austin opens up on Warrington exit and Leeds move

Blake Austin has taken to Instagram to give an honest goodbye to Warrington following the news that he will join Leeds from next season.

It’s been announced that the Australian will join the Rhinos on a one-year deal following the end of his contract at the Halliwell Jones.

Austin praised the Warrington club for his time there.

“Strange writing these mid season. But with news out I want to thank the town and the people of Warrington for allowing a young family from Australia to stop by for a few years, loved every minute, even if 18 months was locked in my house haha to Simon Moran and the whole club I’ll forever be grateful,” Austin said.

“Made life long friends here. I hope I will be remembered as someone that tries he’s best at every opportunity, I hope I’m afforded every opportunity between now and the end of the season to get this grand final ticked off before I leave, to the @leedsrhinos I’m very excited for next year.”

Austin was in action for the Wolves as they beat his new club 27-26 on Sunday evening.
