Bizarre half-time incident mars classic game

Canterbury’s Lachlan Lewis is a talented halfback, but, against South Sydney, he seemingly lost his head.

Lewis had helped the Bulldogs go into a 12-10 half-time lead at half-time against the Rabbitohs, but as Souths’ number 6 Cody Walker walked away, Lewis had something to say.

Despite Walker appearing nonchalant, Lewis suddenly threw the Souths halfback to the floor as a melee ensued.

Lewis was sinbinned as players and pundits looked visibly shocked, with Fox League commentator Andrew Voss stunned too.

“What about that! He’s tackled him and thrown him down,” Voss yelled.

“Lachlan Lewis, or is it Conor McGregor? Have you ever seen that?

“This is just bizarre, this is some of the craziest stuff I’ve seen on a rugby league field.”
