Bizarre disciplinary development as Hull KR man cited for three stamps

Mike Cooper and Dan Sarginson were both banned by the Disciplinary Match Review for incidents that occurred in the last round of games.

But, one name that remarkably stood out from amongst the pile of citations from the weekend’s fixtures was that of Kane Linnett.

‘The Big Red Machine’ as he’s known at Hull College Craven Park has been an outstanding servant to Hull KR since his move from the North Queensland Cowboys, but he was in a great deal of hot water for three separate yet intrinsically linked incidents.

The second-rower was first cited in the 21st minute for standing on the hands of a Leeds Rhinos opponent, before he was seen doing the same offence in the 32nd minute.

If that wasn’t enough, Linnett was again cited in the 38rd minute for exactly the same offence – standing on the hands – for the third time in 17 minutes.

The Robins’ forward, however, has not been banned and will be free to take to the field as Hull KR face Warrington Wolves on Friday night.
