Big team news as star returns and amazing record equalled

Whilst we’ve just witnessed France vs England this past weekend on the international scene, we get to see a domestic version tonight as St Helens travel to Catalans.

At one stage they were topping the table but the Dragons lost four of their last five and now sit fourth, two spots ahead of their Friday night rivals.

A positive for Catalans is that they’re four from five at home with their sole loss coming to Warrington, a Warrington side that Saints beat just before the break.

That win for Saints snapped a two-game losing streak, something they’ll be unfamiliar with these past four years, but with seven players withdrawing from the England squad it’s unclear if they’re back at full fitness.

Morgan Knowles will again miss this fixture on account of his five-game ban whilst Catalans Siasiua Taukeiaho avoided a ban and will therefore be available.

The teams have now been selected and it is a record equalling night as James Roby makes his 531st appearance for the club equalling the club record set by Kel Coslett.

In a major boost, Alex Walmsley returns to the side and Tommy Makinson and Tee Ritson start on the wings.

As for Catalans, retiring legend Sam Tomkins features at stand-off with Arthur Mourgue at fullback.

Tom Johnstone and Tom Davies or on the wings and Steve McNamara has had to ask skipper Ben Garcia to start at nine with Michael McIlorum suspended.
