Big fixture cancelled due to “adverse weather”

Though the action today has been focused on the home of Leeds Rhinos Headingley Stadium and the clash between Wigan Warriors and Hull KR we shouldn’t forget the other games.

Batley Bulldogs have booked their place at Wembley in the 1895 Cup Final. They are set to take on Halifax Panthers after the Panthers defeated London Broncos away last night and today the Bulldogs kept up their brilliant season defeating York for a spot at Wembley.

St Helens women are already headed to Wembley after defeating York yesterday ahead of the meeting between Leigh Leopards and St Helens which Leigh won to head tom Wembley. Saints women will meet the winner of Leeds Rhinos and Wigan Warriors today in the first game at Headingley.

This has meant that Super League and Championship fans have had no rugby to dig their teeth into sadly.

This is why Rochdale Hornets had a special offer for fans to attend their game with London Skolars.

The two currently occupy the bottom half and are battling to climb the table. The Skolars are looking to lift themselves off the bottom of the table.

However, the game has been cancelled due to the rainfall.

“Unfortunately, due to the torrential rain this morning and the continuous adverse weather conditions, today’s game against London Skolars is OFF.

“Details on tickets and a rearranged fixture will be announced in due course.”

A real shame for the fans who were hoping to get their rugby league fix this weekend.

Fans can watch Hull KR and Wigan collide at Headingley on BBC Two from 16:30.
