Bevan French set for long spell on sidelines

Adrian Lam has revealed that Bevan French could be out for three to five months with a “lower hamstring tear”.

The fullback limped off during Wigan’s one-point triumph over Salford last weekend and Lam has now revealed that French will be sidelined for a long period, Wigan Today has reported.

“He’s seen a surgeon in the next 48 hours we’ll know a lot more then,” said Lam.

“At first glance it doesn’t look good, it looks longer than a usual hamstring tear, but in terms of length of time we won’t know.

“He’s an important part of who we are, he’ll be sorely missed.”

Lam does have a ready-made replacement in the wings with Zak Hardaker, who has played a few games at fullback already in 2021.
