Bevan French critical of this from Warrington Wolves

Warrington Wolves have now lost two games in a row after they lost to Super League and World Champions St Helens.

Speaking on Sky Sports, Wigan Warriors star was assessing one of his side’s biggest title rivals.

He said the Wolves will have been frustrated with the try they conceded to Will Hopoate after a Jack Welsby kick.

He said:

“The Hopoate try will be disappointing. There are so many Warrington jerseys in the picture and around the ball, so for Hopoate to get to it before the other players won’t be liked.

“There are more jerseys in the picture so I think it comes down to a breakdown in communication. When there is no communication someone just has to go for it and Hopoate wanted it more.”

The defeat means French’s Wigan side can go top on Sunday with a win over Wakefield.

“We have an opportunity to go top but it is a tough one for us.

“You are expected to sort of run away with these games. They have been off to a poor start but we have had a tough month with a lot of high intensity games and our biggest threat, I guess, is ourselves thinking it might be a walk over game.

“I know in the past when Wakefield have showed up against us when they weren’t expected to.

“We are looking forward to it but we have not talked about whether we will be top of the ladder. I think we are more focused on building on performances.”
