Bevan French could be out for MONTHS following surgery

Wigan star fullback Bevan French could be out for several months following surgery on a torn hamstring.

The Australian sustained the injury in Wigan’s narrow victory over Salford at the end of May and the Lancashire club are now anxiously crossing their fingers in the hope that the results of the operation are positive.

“Bevan has had surgery now, and we’re waiting back for the surgeons to give us an exact timeframe,” Lam said.

“We should know by the end of this week.”

With Zak Hardaker still suspended, Lam will look to either Umyla Hanley, Liam Marshall or Oliver Gildart to fill in at the back.

“We’ve got Liam and Oliver coming back and with Umyla, who is our academy fullback, it’ll be one of those three who plays there.”

“We’re having a tinker and we’ll settle with that for our team run on Thursday.”
