Bennett sends the Bunnies to Canberra early

In an odd move, South Sydney Rabbitohs and England National team head coach Wayne Bennett has told his players that they will be travelling to Canberra ahead of Friday night’s Preliminary Final against the Raiders tomorrow. Bennett has also reportedly told the players that they will not be travelling as a group and players must find their own form of transportation.

This is undoubtedly a strategic move from the master coach, but what is Bennett’s strategy?

Does he want to give his players time to get comfortable in what is to them a foreign environment?

Does he think travelling separately will lead to his players travelling in smaller groups for a long drive will help build chemistry?

Whilst we don’t know the reason for these travelling arrangements, what we do know is that Wayne Bennett knows and it’s probably a good reason.
