Warrington Ladies assistant coach Ben Westwood was in high spirits despite the Wolves falling to a 32-12 defeat against Featherstone.
Despite having the luxury of speed and youth, their lack in experience was evident as they were overpowered by their more established opponents.
Roxy Murdoch-Masila was rested having played in Women’s Origin game the day before and her absence had a clear impact on the team.
Lacking their usual strength and discipline, former men’s great Westwood was still in high spirits despite the loss.
“We did alright,” he said. “We had a good dig, friendlies are good opportunity to get their legs running.
“We have a few youngsters out there so all I can say is, welcome to Super League.”
