Ben Westwood banned for headbutt on Morgan Escare

The independent tribunal has issued a four-match ban to Ben Westwood after he pleaded guilty to headbutting Wigan player Morgan Escare.

Super League’s oldest player challenged the grading of the grade D charge but lost his appeal against the severity and will therefore miss the next month of action.

Westwood, who was also fined £500, will miss Warrington’s matches against Wakefield Trinity, Hull FC, London Broncos and St Helens.
