Ben Murdoch-Masila speaks out on Warrington Wolves man’s exit

Ben Murdoch-Masila has given new Salford Red Devils Sitaleki Akauola a vote of confidence in his new move from the Warrington Wolves.

Whilst Akauola has gone from Warrington to Salford, Murdoch-Masila went the other way, joining Warrington after two years at Salford.

Following 60 appearances for the Red Devils, Murdoch-Masila went on to make 68 in a Wolves’ shirt between 2018 and 2020, before joining the New Zealand Warriors ahead of the 2021 NRL season.

The duo know each other from their time spent at the Wests Tigers together as well as the Tonga national side, where Murdoch-Masila has earned 13 caps and Akauola just the one.

However, with experience at both Warrington and Salford, 30-year-old Murdoch-Masila has issued this statement of positivity for his friend: “Congrats my boy. You’ll love it there doko”.

Doko, meaning sibling or brother, is an affectionate word used in the Tongan language, with Murdoch-Masila sharing the words on the post confirming Akauola’s move to the AJ Bell Stadium.
