Wakefield Trinity

It’s exciting times at Wakefield Trinity as they head into 2023.

The West Yorkshire club has completed its first two signings going into next term with Featherstone Rovers halfback Morgan Smith joining Mark Applegarth’s new regime at Belle Vue alongside former New Zealand international and NRL winner Kevin Proctor.

Proctor’s move was confirmed this week as the club are said to have offered him “a very lucrative deal.”

The club don’t just have new players, they have a new assistant coach joining new Head Coach Applegarth in the shape of James Ford.

The new things don’t stop there either with Wakefield redeveloping their stadium ahead of next season.

Now, ex-footballer and Sky Sports legend Chris Kamara has shared footage of the work being done at Belle Vue.

Kamara will always be remembered for his brilliant and hilarious reporting on Sky Sports Soccer Saturday and has also appeared on coverage of Super League in the past.

He lives local to Belle Vue and took a video of the work being done displaying the new pitch being laid down and an exciting big screen in the corner.

The video also depicts the skeleton for the new stands which has already been shared by club Chairman John Minards.

He took to Twitter to share the video with the caption: “New pitch down & the new stand is on its way up and look at the swanky big screen.”

Wakefield began pre-season this week and are preparing for an opening round clash with Catalans Dragons at home prior to a trip to Wigan Warriors in Round Two.
