BBC Sport pundit names ‘the most dynamic and destructive front-rower in the game’

St Helens took on Wigan Warriors in the Challenge Cup semi-final at Elland Road over the weekend.

Before the game kicked off, on BBC Sport as usual, there was a long build-up on both sides with pundit Robbie Hunter-Paul labelling the ‘most dynamic and destructive front-rowers in the game of rugby league.’

It’s high praise indeed from the former Bradford Bulls hero and few would have opposed to the man that Hunter-Paul was waxing lyrical about.

It was, of course, Alex Walmsley who didn’t enjoy the best of games for Saints against their bitterest rivals.

“He’s the most dynamic destructive front-rower running in the game of rugby league,” Hunter-Paul said on BBC Sport.

“He’s absolutely brilliant and gets the team on the front foot – he’s got one job only and that’s to skittle the opposition defenders like they are playing ten pin bowling.”

Walmsley has been at Saints his whole Super League career, registering over 200 appearances after joining from Batley Bulldogs at the end of the 2013 season.

Since then, the England international has become one of the most feared forwards in the competition and will likely be a shoo-in for the World Cup at the end of the year.
