Batley snap up York prop

Batley have bolstered their forward options for 2020 with the signing of York prop Jack Blagbrough.

The 25-year-old started his career with Huddersfield, making one Super League appearance after coming through their academy system.

He then made a permanent switch to Sheffield, with whom he spent three years, having loan spells with York and Oldham along the way.

A year in Australia with second-tier side Mackay Cutters followed, before he returned to the UK in 2018 with Leigh, before then signing for the City Knights again the following season.

He has racked up over 70 senior appearances in his career so far, and adds significant bulk to Craig Lingard’s forward pack.

He becomes the Bulldogs’ seventh new signing for next season, joining Reece Dean, Shaun Pick, Dale Morton, Lucas Walshaw, Luke Hooley and Ben White at the Fox’s Biscuits Stadium.
