Bateman seeking extension at the Raiders

Canberra Raiders breakout star John Bateman has revealed he is seeking a contract extension with the grand finalists

NRL 360 presenter Paul Kent misinterpreted this as an attempted cash grab by Bateman’s agent, believing that the plan was to to get more money from the Raiders and if that was not possible, get a release from the club.

The second-rower has since reached out on social media to set the record straight.

Bateman had this to say about an article released by Michael Chammas on the issue:

“Hahahah settle down people I’m looking to extend my contract where I am at. See you all Sunday.”

It seems Bateman has had a change of hearts from reports he was feeling homesick at the start of the season, this will be welcome news to Raiders fans, as their club heads to their first grand final in 25 years on Sunday.
