Barrie McDermott makes surprise prediction about where Kruise Leeming could end up

One of the big stories recently has been that of Kruise Leeming.

The England international and 2021 Super League Dream Team hooker has requested to leave Leeds Rhinos after a little over three years at Headingley.

He is widely expected to head to the NRL with St George Illawarra Dragons, Gold Coast Titans and even the unbeaten Brisbane Broncos reportedly interested in the number nine though it has been reported that the Titans are in pole position.

Speaking on his Instagram page, Sky Sports pundit and former Leeds Rhinos star Barrie McDermott has given an interesting assessment of what he thinks could happen with Leeming believing that he could be back in Super League with a big club:

“He still hasn’t decided where he is going yet and for me that is the strongest possibility at the moment.

“I think he is a great player, a great pro as well and has given great service to my old club the Leeds Rhinos.

“These things very rarely work out when players go on their own terms.

“If he does end up in the NRL is that the best thing for me, is it the best thing for him as a professional and is it the best thing for him as an international?

“Will we see him grow and progress and develop over the year in the NRL and then in 2024 after what may well be a short term deal, he might come back in 2024 to a club like St Helens, Warrington, Wigan might be Catalans Dragons.”
