Leeds Rhinos have had some incredible forwards in their side over the years.
You just have to look at Jamie Peacock, Kylie Leuluai and Barrie McDermott.
Well, now McDermott has identified one of their current crop as one of the best that Leeds have ever had in that department – and that man is Mikolaj Oledzki.
“He’s one of the most best front-rowers this team has ever had,” McDermott said live on Sky Sports.
“He’s dynamic and I’m a big fan of his – he’s in the England team and will be in the World Cup side at the end of the year.”
It’s massive praise indeed from the Sky Sports pundit who commentated on Leeds’ 26-12 loss to Salford Red Devils.
The Rhinos were in control for much of the game, going into a 10-8 lead as they were able to stem the tide of Bodene Thompson’s and Zane Tetevano’s yellow cards.
However, three late tries from the Red Devils condemned Leeds to a fifth defeat in six games as Salford picked up their third win from six games in front of a jubilant AJ Bell Stadium.
That meant that head coach Richard Agar left his post as head coach at Headingley with a different role set to be announced at a later stage.
Jamie Jones-Buchanan will take over Leeds in their Challenge Cup clash against Castleford Tigers tomorrow afternoon.
