“Barking mad” – Super League club make subtle dig at yellow card decision

Super League Disciplinary

On Friday night, Hull KR helped their play-off hopes with a win over Wakefield Trinity.

During the game Catalans Dragons loanee at Hull KR Fouad Yaha clattered Max Jowitt with a harsh but fair tackle that the officials deemed a little too harsh, sending him for 10 minutes.

It was this tackle that has outraged a few fans.

Meanwhile, former Super League official Richard Silverwood has labelled it “pathetic” and said “the game will gone very soon.”

Silverwood shared a screenshot of the incident with the comment:

“Absolutely pathetic. Arms wrapped, perfect tackle but unfortunately clash of heads. Game will be gone very soon.”

Footage of the yellow card tackle has now emerged on social media.

Sky Sports’ highlights package – which can be watched in full here – depicts the tackle.

You can clearly see the impact of the tackle on the Yaha’s opponent but tackling someone hard has never been a crime.

That being said, the sport has to be commended for its continued work to protect players.

Either way, Hull KR have clearly had a bit of fun with the moment picking it as their “barking mad moment of the week” this week.
