Castleford Tigers have revealed a brilliant boost for their IMG score with their social media presence continuing to grow.
This is a vital part of the IMG grading and is bad news for the likes of Leigh Leopards, Wakefield Trinity and Toulouse Olympique in the battle for the top 12 places.
The Tigers revealed the news with the following statement:
“Castleford Tigers would like to thank our Social Media following for all their support in 2023.
“As part of the IMG grading, Digital output was taken into account. The club’s channels were ranked highly in the table and that boils down to the brilliant engagement across all of our channels.
“We will be posting a wide range of fun and engaging content across the coming year, and the channels will be the hub to keep up to date with all things Castleford Tigers. As we approach a cumulative total of 200,000 followers, make sure you’re following every channel so you don’t miss anything going on at the club!”

Castleford Tigers have also announce continued partnership with Geoshield for the upcoming season which is a boost for their financial score under IMG.
Entering their 7th year of partnership with the Tigers, Geoshield back the club, 1st team & PDRL, financially and personally as keen lifelong Castleford supporters. Geoshield will have advertising at Wheldon Road on the ground boards, alongside match day hospitality and a further season of sponsorship of our social media match day squad announcements.
Originally founded in Glasshoughton; Geoshield provide independent third party verification & integrity testing on-site quality assurance programs for hazardous ground gas protection, deep basement & tunnel waterproofing systems & green and blue roof decks. GeoShield are heavily involved in assuring the safe habitable environments for occupants in new buildings constructed on the contaminated lands across the old mining & industrial sites of our region.
John Sparks, Managing Director of Geoshield had this to say “Come on ye fords! At GeoShield we’re really looking forward to the new season, with Martin Jepson on board, a focused new coach, players proud to wear the shirt, the stadium being redeveloped and a proper amber & black first kit, Wheldon Road is the place to be!”
Laura Kirk, Commercial Director at Castleford Tigers said: “It’s great to be working with John and the team at Geoshield for another year. Their support is invaluable, John is always keen to help improve the club with advice and suggestions which is very much welcomed and shows their proactive support to move the club forward. Their support on and around match days is a real motivator for us all, and we look forward to continuing to build on this relationship for many years to come.”
