St Helens are now the Champions of the world after a extra time drop goal from Lewis Dodd defeated the Penrith Panthers in their own backyard.
During the build up, the Saints were written off and given a 24 point start by the bookmakers.
It was said that they were taking on the best team in the world but they themselves are now officially the best team in the world after today’s win.
Now Australian presenter and a man who champions British rugby league in the shape of comedian and former Warrington Wolves PDRL player Adam Hills has called for a Super League mindset change.
He said:
“Super League players when they go into the World Club Challenge they always say they’re playing the best in the world. Well you’re not. You’re deciding who is the best in the world, don’t call them that until you have played them.
“I’d love now for them to change that mindset.”
As he said this, he called on Jack Welsby to stay in Super League.
There has been so much interest in the fullback from down under this week but Hills said he doesn’t need to leave because he plays for the best team in the world.
He said: “He has shown that he can go play in the NRL, but he doesn’t need to. He is playing in the best team in the world.”
However, Kyle Amor admitted that he needs to be challenged like that every week:
“He needs to get that test week in week out, with Jack there will be a price tag put on his head.”
Australian journalist David Riccio takes the opposite view to Hills saying he “has to” get himself to the NRL.
Jack Welsby has to get his game to the NRL. Just 21. What a star. @telegraph_sport #WCC

According to The Mole, there are plenty of suitors in the NRL with clubs willing to pay a fee for his services.
