Australia star Cameron Munster lifts lid on what prankster said to him after national anthem stunt

Australia

Cameron Munster has explained what was said as he lined up next to serial prankster Daniel Jarvis (Jarvo) for the national anthems ahead of the second Test between England and Australia.

Jarvo was spotted at the end of the Australian line-up in full green and gold attire as Kevin Walters’ team sung the national anthem at Hill Dickinson Stadium. The prankster had his arm around Munster before being spotted by security and escorted down the tunnel and out of the stadium.

It was a bizarre moment seen by very few inside Hill Dickinson, but he was spotted on television and has gone on to make headlines on both sides of the world, with security at the new stadium being questioned.

Jarvo is renowned for such stunts and managed to line up next to the England football team in against Ireland, he also invaded the pitch during a Test cricket match between England and India and disrupted a BBC broadcast by hiding a phone in the studio.

The man was subsequently arrested by Merseyside Police and Munster has explained what went on as the Kangaroos lined up for the anthem.

Australia star on Jarvo’s prank

“Yeah, it was Kevvie’s cousin,” Munster joked.

“I literally thought it was some package or some guy who got the opportunity to have a bit of a chat and jump into the anthem with us.

“He asked to jump between me and Patty (Carrigan). Myself and Patty have a superstition when we play together that we’ll stand together at the end and he tried to get between us.

“I looked at him like: ‘No, you’re not doing that’. He wanted to stand next to me and then he asked if I could put my arm around him, I was like: ‘Ah, mate, if that’s what you want to do’.

“Obviously the security is great around here…”
