Ash Golding tips Huddersfield Giants youngsters to surprise a few at Rugby League World Cup

It’s been a big day for Huddersfield Giants.

Ian Watson’s side confirmed the signing of Jake Connor from Hull FC as he returns to the club he made his name for.

It means the Giants now have four fullbacks to their disposal with Tui Lolohea, Will Pryce and Ash Golding all at the club already.

Despite the quality of those names, only two of them are set to feature in the World Cup in the shape of Tui Lolohea and Golding.

Golding is captaining Jamaica tasked with playing at nine for them despite wearing the number 13 shirt and he comes up against Ireland today which includes Huddersfield teammate Innes Senior and his twin the Hull KR headed Louis Senior as he’s joined in the Jamaica side by Michael Lawrence of the Giants.

Understandably, Golding is most excited to see these players in the tournament tipping the Senior twins to cause teams problems speaking on the rugby league YouTube channel

He said: “I’m really interested in seeing the twins play, Louis and Innes Senior. I think given the right pedestal, they can rip it up.

“I’m also interested to see one of my former teammates Dom Young play for England. He’s got raw talent, something you don’t see very much of these days.

“I think he’s going to surprise a few people.”
