Another Super League player is available

Huddersfield Giants have one of the biggest and strongest squads in Super League so getting everyone the necessary game time is tough for Ian Watson.

This is likely why Sam Hewitt and Innes Senior have joined Wakefield Trinity on loan and soon it could be Nathan Mason.

When asked today about the prospect of other players going out on loan, Watson said:

“We’re having a little look at Nathan Mason at the moment because he has been ill unfortunately.

“He was going to play a couple of weeks ago and then he got poorly. He has played some reserve games which has set him up nicely but he needs some game time.

“He is more than ready to play Super League, he will be in the squad but it is unlikely to play if everything goes to plan.”

Watson also addressed Senior’s loan move to Belle Vue:

“The one thing Innes is he has been patient to play especially whilst we had some injuries. He got his game against St Helens.

“There are a couple of things defensively that we want him to work on and he knows it as well but the big thing is we want him to continue to play Super League.

“Wakefield again came in with a similar situation to Sam Hewitt and Jerry McGillvary coming back we felt like we are covered there.

“He is with us long term and will eventually be one of our number one wingers just at this moment he is still learning his trade.”
