Former Catalans Dragons and Toulouse Olympique player Gavin Marguerite has announced his retirement from rugby league.

He was a star of the French Elite One Championship and nearly had a shot at Super League with Catalans Dragons but sadly, despite signing with them, never played for the club in the Super League.

Now he won’t ever have the chance retiring at 26.

He said on social media:

“When you have watched this video until the end, you will know a little better the courses, the evolution, that I did not do alone, I did it just as a team, with family and friends. But everything has an end.

“You know, God puts us on paths with obstacles and our goal is to get out of it, live your life to the fullest do not turn around.

“Don’t regret anything, if you have to have regrets, then regret not doing it.

“Today, a page is turned, but the book is not finished.

“Thank you, thank you for everything Thank you everyone.”

This news comes after he was given a three year ban for using anabolic steroids by the AFLD.

This comes after UK Anti-Doping has hit a number of rugby league players with bans in recent weeks.

They have also banned boxer Amir Khan today.
