Barrow Raiders’ opening fixture of the 2023 Betfred Championship season at home to Toulouse Olympique will not only be watched by the fans in attendance but will also be streamed live on the RFL’s OurLeague platform.
The Round 1 clash takes place on Saturday 4 February (3pm kick-off).
All money generated through the pay-per-view Our League stream will go directly to the club, and this option will allow supporters who can’t join in-person on the day to still be part of the action.
According to the official statement made, Raiders supporters will be notified once Our League passes are available to buy.
OurLeague has shown Super League, Challenge Cup games and League One matches in the past.
Meanwhile, it took on the form of the Rugby League World Cup App during the tournament and showed World Cup games live too alongside the BBC.
Now they will be showing Toulouse Olympique’s return to the Championship after they were disappointedly relegated from Super League at the end of 2022 despite a valiant effort and a strong middle third of the season.
The French side will need a strong start to the 2023 season though if they are going to earn promotion back to Super League ahead of Featherstone Rovers, Bradford Bulls and others.
Speaking of the Rovers, their fixture is the other game to be broadcast in the opening round against Keighley Cougars on ViaPlay sports following a name change from Premier Sports.
